Sometimes the deepest healing comes from the experiences we never would have chosen.

Over the last five years, life has given me the gift of some tremendous external challenges for me to work through.  Six family losses (starting with my dad) and a serious relationship breakup.  From where I was prior, a state of great wholeness, clarity and inspiration, this brought major grief and trauma and suffering. The reason I call it a gift is because I know I can turn lemons into lemonade, trauma into triumph, wounds into wisdom, and pain into purpose.  Now I have the opportunity to share what I have learned with others.

For me, music is one of the greatest gifts and practices – as well as the awareness of how and why it works so well. Grounding you into the present moment and connecting you with who you are, music is a teacher that shows that you are loved beyond the right and wrong notes. It allows for a creative expression of the soul. It helps you see all of it from a bird’s eye view – not attached, but rather seeing all the darker negative painful aspects as an exploration and an experience rather than something to identify with or create a false narrative or story around.  Ultimately, healing and forgiveness and the reclaiming of self is what gets to happen.

And we see the higher perspective that stories need contrast, otherwise there is no story. Music needs the contrast of tension and resolution, and of right and wrong notes as well.  Like I say in my poem The Seed of Pure Awareness, “For an arrow to go far, it requires the tension of the bow.”

Over the past few days, I found myself feeling out of balance and overwhelmed with many “things I had to do” and how it caused me to isolate.  I also felt disconnected from my creative practice that empowers me and serves for my own healing.  It put me in a darker place, and since the Universe is a mirror, I started to see the reflection of unwanted external events.  So I realized I needed to come back hOMe to myself again, and spent a good 3+ hours with the guitar and with a transcription – something that works well to expand creativity and cultivate new ideas.  The external world began to start shifting back into alignment as well.

This is a major part of what we do with Bodhisattva Music – use music to shift energy and raise our consciousness.  Transform suffering and limiting beliefs into joy, creativity, and a clear seeing of Who We Are and what we are capable of creating.  Whether this is through our live performances, workshops, or 1-on-1 sessions, this is what we get to experience together.  If you are interested, please visit www.scottybramermusic.com and reach out to scottybramermusic@gmail.com if you have any questions and for all bookings.
